Since 1994, Lost Rivers Toronto has been mapping & exploring the buried creeks and the above-ground natural waterways all acros Toronto's landscape. We lead monthly walks for the public in different parks & neighbourhoods, and continue expanding our reach with recent walks along Etobicoke Creek, Humber River & Black Creek in North York. We inaugurated the Salmon Festival in Scarborough's Morningside Park and have continued to participate annually since handing its event management to TRCA. We love engaging local histories, citizen science and different arts in our walks & events, as we did in the 2019 Poetry Walk on the Don River and the Toronto Biennale, and s we plan to do with dance, visual arts & all-ages crafts in our upcoming Black Creek walk. It's all about fostering an understanding of our city in a new framework, that of urban ecosystems that exist all around us and upon which we depend and are a part.
